I lived in the Flats at Dupont Circle for four years, and only left because I was relocating to another city. I can't say enough good things about the building and staff. Everyone who works at the Flats, from maintenance personnel to leasing agents, is extremely nice, accommodating, and will go out of their way to ensure their tenants are happy.

Everyone who works at the front desk is a joy to see in the morning on my way to work and in the afternoon after a long day. They are all smiles and always ready to greet you and make you feel at home. Locked out? They can let you back in at any time. Need to pick up a package? You can get it 24 hours a day. Dry cleaning? Just drop it off at the front desk! Some of the people I will miss most from DC worked behind that desk. They become friends, and are always available to help with anything you may need.

Maureen in the leasing office made my move-in and move-out experience easy, and was a great contact during my four years. She was readily available to answer questions, help negotiate annual lease agreements, and provide all of the necessary moving instructions and assistance when it came time for me to leave.

The amenities at the Flats are a major plus. The gym is spectacular, bright, and spacious. The pool is always clean and fun, but not over the top with loud parties. The laundry room is in great condition, has tons of machines, and takes credit cards. My favorite feature of the laundry room is that you can check online to see if there are machines available before lugging all of your items downstairs. You can even set it up so you receive a text when your laundry is ready to be switched to the dryer or is finished.

LOCATION LOCATION LOCATION! The building is just a few blocks from the Dupont metro station, and is also in walking distance to the Foggy Bottom and Farragut West/North stations, depending on which line you need. There are plenty of bars, restaurants, workout studios, bus stops, and convenience stores nearby. It's a 15 minute walk to the White House, and a short Uber or metro to the National Mall. You cannot run out of things to do.

The rooms are bright, with huge windows allowing plenty of sun in, as well as vertical blinds for when you need to recover from the night before (I call those dungeon days). The stainless steel appliances and track lighting really make the rooms feel up-to-date and modern. The shower has awesome water pressure, something I was concerned about when moving into such a large building.

I wish I could live here forever, but duty calls elsewhere!

The treatment I received from Cristina Luna, the assistant community manager, was very unprofessional and enough to cause mt to not want to move into the building. The miscommunication of details between her and her leasing agents, advertising units with a balcony that actually do not have a balcony, offering apartments when she said they were available but then they "magically" were unavailable, and her attitude when meeting in person clearly illustrated the lack of respect, the disorganization, and motivation to lease an apartment to a potential customer. Be prepared to wait days to get an email response back, or better yet, if you have a friend that lives in the building like I do, it took him to go to the leasing office for her to contact me about a vacant unit. Overall, they are not flexible with dates and was told right out when I mentioned that I had a 60 day notice, "well that does not impact us, only you." If this is how you are treated for months trying to lease an apartment, imagine living in the building. I would not recommend it.
